OBJECTIVES
Purpose:

Standardise criteria for robotic surgery training across all surgical disciplines in Singapore

Facilitate robotic surgery fellowship for training programs in Singapore

Provide a reference for institutions to create their credentialing criteria
Targeted surgeons:

Young specialists who have received their Specialists accreditation embarking on robotic surgery
-
Specialists seeking institutional robotic surgery privileges

CERTIFICATION CRITERIA

5-step Criteria
-
Applicant provides proof of completion of 1-4.
-
Exit video review by a RS3-appointed reviewer
-
Online: Complete manufacturer online Training module
-
Dry Lab: Complete dry lab training on basic technical handling of console and patient cart set-up
-
Wet Lab: Complete procedure-specific wet lab training with instruction by a proctor surgeon using animal models or simulated tissue models
-
Proctored Clinical Cases: Complete specialty-specific minimum number of clinical cases supervised by an RS3-appointed proctor surgeon
-
Exit review with surgical videos: Video review of at least 3 cases by RS3-appointed reviewer

Minimum proctored cases:
Urology: 20
Colorectal: 10
Gynaecology: 10
Thoracic surgery: 20
Hepatobiliary surgery: 20
Upper GI surgery: 5
TORS for Head and neck: 10
TORS for OSA: 5
Thyroid: 10

Non-refundable application fees of $500 paid to Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore at point of application

Provide proof of completing criteria 1 to 4

Exit video review will be arranged between applicant and RS3-appointed reviewer
